The Ultimate Belfast Shopping Guide

With two huge shopping hubs, and a busy city centre, brimming with high street stores alongside some of our quirkier offerings, Belfast is a hive of activity for the busy shopper. From fashion and footwear to unique gifts, there’s something for everyone.

9am: Fashion First

Put your best foot forward and step out in style with the help of Belfast’s two fashion hotspots. But if fashion just isn’t your thing, there’s lots more to be found in these major shopping destinations.

Victoria Square

Victoria Square is the home of designer and luxury brands, with a host of huge names in shopping including House of Fraser, LK Bennett, Urban Outfitters, Michael Kors, Mango, Hollister and Tommy Hilfiger. For gorgeous accessories, head to Lunn's the Jewellers and Goldsmiths, and for the latest gadgets, Belfast's Apple Store - the only one on the island of Ireland - is a must. There’s fashion, beauty, homeware and everything in between in this fabulous shopping centre, and you can even travel up to the dome on the top floor for panoramic views across Belfast.

Enjoy late night shopping to 9pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well as Sunday shopping from 1pm - 6pm.

CastleCourt

CastleCourt offers the ultimate shopping experience with all your favourite high street stores under one roof, right in the centre of Belfast. With over 80 great stores including Debenhams, Schuh Kids, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Jack and Jones, Simply Be and Dune, there’s never been a better time to pay CastleCourt a visit. Enjoy late night shopping every Thursday until 9pm.

11.30am: Brunch Break

Shopping is hungry work, so fuel up for the day ahead with a hearty brunch. Victoria Square has a host of delicious restaurants and cafés including Starbucks and Slim's Healthy Kitchen where you can get a refreshing fruit smoothie. AM:PM restaurant is just across the road from Victoria Square, or pop into Robinson and Cleaver for brunch with a view of Belfast City Hall from their rooftop terrace.

12.30pm: The Perfect Gift

Shopping for a present, or searching for something truly unique? Look no further - Belfast is a one-stop destination.

Studio Souk

Studio Souk on Ann Street is packed full of locally made arts and crafts, where you can engage directly with their lovely in-house designers, artists and makers. They work their magic and create unique handmade designs, or upcycle previously unloved items into stunning pieces.

Avoca

Avoca is an Irish treasure trove for gifts, food and homeware, as well as being famous for its Irish, hand-woven throws and scarves created on 300 year old hand-weaving looms in their mill in Avoca Village, County Wicklow. It stocks the finest food as well as some of the leading names in home and fashion labels.

Le Creuset

Love your kitchen? You’ll love Belfast’s Le Creuset store. Not only is it world-renowned for its premium quality cookware, but its Belfast store also has a kitchen, which regularly hosts cookery demonstrations and events. Whether you’re purchasing a housewarming present, or simply adding something special to your own kitchen, Le Creuset is ideal.

Alice's Wonderland for Gifts - Utopia

Utopia is a wonderland in the heart of the city where you can find unique gifts, accessories and homeware. They have everything from beautifully designed tea pots and mugs, to hip flasks and retro phones! Find them at the Fountain Centre under Belfast's enchanting timekeeper, the Alice Clock.

1.30pm: Fine Foods and Local Fayre

Sawers

If it’s tasty treats and edible purchases that you’re searching for, there’s no better destination than Sawers, a famous family-owned business in the heart of Belfast with an extensive range of fine foods. There is an old Belfast saying: "If you can't get it in Sawers, you can't get it anywhere".

Co Couture

If you've got a sweet tooth, Co Couture crafts luxurious chocolates using specially created blends of the finest French and Italian couverture to ensure the ultimate taste experience. Make sure to try their homemade marshmallows!

The Good Food and Wine Company

Food hall, tea house and coffee brewbar, The Good Food and Wine Company works with local producers and small farmers to bring you local, authentic, home-grown foods and gifts. Located in Queen's Arcade, try their range of shortbreads, handmade chocolates, jams, marmalades and fresh Armagh Bramley apple juices. For the perfect gift, create your own hamper made up of goodies from their food hall.

2pm: Time For Lunch

Getting peckish? Now is a great time to enjoy a delicious city centre lunch. Why not try Home Restaurant (which has a superb selection of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options), Solo Kitchen & Bar or hidden gem The Cuban Sandwich Factory in Queen's Arcade for some tasty treats. You won’t have too far to walk with your shopping – we’ve thought of everything!

3pm: Gems and Jewels

Everyone needs a little sparkle in their lives. Whether it’s traditional jewellery or something a little more unusual, we have a great range of jewellers and boutiques to fit the bill.

Lunn's, Northern Ireland's leading jeweller, is a family business with over 50 years of experience. They stock many of the world's leading watch and jewellery brands including Patek Philippe, Rolex, Cartier, IWC, Chanel and Omega. They have their own diamond jewellery brand: Portfolio of Fine Diamonds, which offers an unrivalled selection of diamond rings, engagement rings, diamond earrings and diamond pendants.

Argento

Searching for something a little more quirky and contemporary? Argento is perfect, combining an excellent range of unique designer collections with your favourite high street brands. Whether you're shopping for something distinctively local from Karma Jewellery, or a top-brand purchase from Pandora, Nomination, Thomas Sabo or Olivia Burton (to name but a few!) Argento will have something to fit the bill.

4pm: Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

After a hard day’s retail therapy, it’s time to kick back and relax before taking home your purchases. Take the weight off your feet with a hot cup of coffee and a caramel square in local favourite Clements, indulge in some delicious baked goods in Patisserie Valerie, or if you've availed of our public transport services, celebrate a successful day of shopping with cocktails in The Apartment, The Treehouse or Café Vaudeville.
