Purple Turnip Festival
28 October 2017 - 29 October 2017, Times vary - check event website
Lisburn City Centre hosts its annual Purple Turnip Festival in October with a family fun weekend.
On Saturday 28 October from 11am – 3pm, dance on the interactive light floor in Market Square with DJ 'Amazing Aldo' in Market Square and enjoy free craft activities with workshops to make your very own paper pumpkin. No turnip event would be complete without a terrific turnip hunt, where participants will have the chance to win spooky prizes with cleverly hidden turnips around the City Centre.
On Sunday 29 October from 2pm – 5pm, come along to Navigation House, 148 Hillsborough Road, for drop in storytelling, tapestry and turnip tales. The Council are working with Lagan Navigation Trust to bring you a spooky autumn event involving a lantern parade along the Lagan towpath from 4pm - 5pm with silly scarecrows and other harvest characters. If that's not enough, take part in bug hunts and wildlife sessions with a chance to taste produce from local suppliers.
